It’s not much but it will help providers who are struggling to recruit and maintain qualified home care workers. The new rates can be found by logging on to Georgia’s MMIS portal and viewing the latest Provider notices.
Per GAMMIS:
The Department of Community Health has received approval through an Appendix K amendment to increase provider rates by 10% for all services delivered through the Elderly and Disabled and Independent Care Waiver Programs. The provider rate increase was authorized through legislative initiative in the 2021 Georgia General Assembly.
The Appendix K application is attached to this message and will be posted on the DCH website under the COVID-19 Information for Medicaid providers and members. The rates found in the application represent the approved service rates for both waiver programs.
Specific information related to the rate increases includes:
The effective date of the rate increases as approved by CMS is July 1, 2021.
* Gainwell Technologies has updated reimbursement rates in the MMIS system and all claims submitted beginning Friday, December 10th, may be billed at the new rate.
* Gainwell will reprocess all claims submitted on or after July 1, 2021 to reimburse at the higher rates. Providers do not need to resubmit claims. Additional information will be provided regarding the timeline for reprocessing claims.
* If providers choose to adjust paid claims the claims will reimburse the rate differential and there will be no impact to the mass adjustment since the claims will have been reimbursed at the higher rates. DCH is working to reflect the new rates for Personal Support Services in the EVV system as soon as possible.
