If you billed for Home Care services through Georgia Medicaid’s Mandatory Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) platform last week on Wednesday December 22, 2021, you may have noticed that the claims that were released through Tellus never appeared on MMIS the next day or any of the days following submission.
If you go into the Claims Review area on Tellus, you may see the claims have the status “ACCEPTED,” meaning they were accepted through MMIS’s system, but nothing further happened after that.
You’ll also notice that any claims billed through Tellus are not on the Remittance Advice for 12/24/2021. So far, MMIS says they don’t have the answers and there’s no mention of whether providers will be paid for the glitch that prevented thousands of claims from processing.
It’s interesting to note that by skipping this payment for HCBS providers, Georgia Medicaid’s next payment to providers will fall under the 2022 year. Perhaps there are budgetary issues involved. Let’s just hope this doesn’t become a regular thing!
